Vancouver Eastside Condos & Townhomes Continue to Dominate Sales for January 2022
East Vancouver condos and townhomes continue to top the ranks in sales for all of Vancouver. The market saw a 53% sales ratio with 316 added to inventory and 167 sold to start out the new year. East Vancouver condos and townhomes in the $700k – $800k price range hit the sweet spot for the month with a 108% sales ratio (26 sold, 24 newly added).
East Vancouver continued to show its outstanding results with 5 neighbourhoods selling at over 100% sales ratio.
- Hastings, East Vancouver tallied a spectacular 200% sales ratio (18 sales, 9 new listings)
- Knight, East Vancouver came up just under with a 175% sales ratio(7 sold, 4 new listings)
- Champlain Heights and Strathcona, , East Vancouver performed at a 167% and 160% sales ratio respectively (13 sales, 6 new listings combined)
Although these sales ratios are undeniably impressive, only Hastings saw sales in the double-digits for the month (18 sales). Other areas also had a successful month, including condo and townhome sales in Collingwood, Downtown, and Mount Pleasant which collectively recorded 81 sales with 152 new listings, generating a 54% sales ratio.
Downtown and Vancouver Westside Saw a Similar Month in Condo and Townhome Sales
Condos and townhomes in Downtown Vancouver and the Westside had a very comparable month when it came to sales. The two areas had 190 and 183 sales respectively. The only difference in the two being that the Westside had a slightly higher sales ratio compared to Downtown at 34% and 30% respectively. This was because of fewer new listings in the Westside at 542 compared to 631 new listings downtown.
Here were the best performing neighbourhoods in the Westside this month:
- Kitsilano condos & townhomes dominated with a 74% sales ratio (26 sales, 35 new listings)
- Fairview and False Creek condos & townhomes generated a 50% sales ratio (54 sales, 108 new listings)
Here were the best performing neighbourhoods Downtown this month
- Yaletown produced 60 sales to generate a 39% sales ratio
- Downtown and Westend followed with 113 sales and 30% sales ratio
